The day we’ve been building toward for over a year is finally here: The Undercut demo is out. As part of Steam Neo Fest, you can download and play it for free, right now. If you’ve been following along through the devlogs and the closed alpha, this is the build where everything finally clicks together in public.
What’s in the demo
The demo is a focused slice — not the whole game, but enough to feel its shape. It puts you in the seat for a complete race weekend of career mode (light):
- A trimmed career-mode setup — lighter than the full version, but enough to make real management calls and step onto a race weekend with a team that’s yours.
- A full race weekend on the stable Alpha 0.2 race engine: practice, qualifying, and race day, with strategy, pit stops, tyre management, and the rubber-line track evolution all running live.
It’s the same foundation our closed-test group has been hammering on — the time-of-day lighting and procedural liveries, the rubber line and track evolution, the procedural circuits and driver generation — all wrapped into one playable weekend.
This is a light slice of something much bigger
The “light” in career mode is deliberate. The full game layers in car development, sponsor and supplier negotiations, scouting, a living media world, multi-season arcs — the systems we’ve been laying out in the roadmap. The demo holds back most of that on purpose, so your first taste is the part that has to feel right before anything else can lean on it: a believable race weekend you actually manage.
If it grabs you, the best thing you can do is wishlist — it’s the single biggest signal that helps a small project like this during Neo Fest.
